Diary: 2018 Week 25

A week off work, meeting up with Julian Baird and Gareth Danks for a summer solstice shoot and England thrash Panama in the World Cup.

Monday 18th June 2018

I am on holiday for the week so we took the opportunity to walk around Buttermere. Whenever I do I cannot resist taking a shot from Peggy’s Bridge at the southern end of the lake.

Tuesday 19th

Released the video that I shot with Sam and Hannah Bose today. I am very happy with it and I hope for there sake that it does well and generates some traffic to their channel.

Wednesday 20th

The first 24 hours are so important for a video and the signs for this weeks are good. After 24 hours it has already had over 1000 views. I am pleased by this as collaboration videos don’t usually do that well for me.

Thursday 21st

Off down to Devon to meet up with fellow YouTube photographers Julian Baird and Gareth Danks. The plan is to shoot one location tonight and another tomorrow morning, in between I shall be sleeping in the car. This might not be one of my better ideas.

Friday 22nd

It took me nearly 10 hours to drive home from Devon today. I was up at 04:00 to shoot sunrise after grabbing just 4 hours sleep in the back of the car.

If this is the life of a professional landscape photographer I am not sure it’s for me!

Saturday 23rd

Spent the day catching up with comments on the 2 videos I released this week. After the exertions of yesterday it was nice to take a bit of a break to recover.

Sunday 24th

With 2 videos in the bag I didn’t feel it necessary to get out this weekend. Instead I watch England thrash Panama 6-1 in the World Cup. There is more to life than photography.
