Lake District Landscape Photography

by Chris Sale

Hi there. I’m Chris and I am a landscape photographer based in Cumbria in the north west of England.

I live on the edge of the Lake District National Park, just a stone’s throw away from some of the finest scenery in Great Britain.

The Lake District

The Lake District is England’s largest national park and UNESCO world heritage site.

Famed for its outstanding natural beauty it is a popular destination for landscape photographers from all over the world.

I have lived on the boundary of the Lake District National Park since 2012. I spend as much time as possible exploring the fells with my camera and sharing my adventures on my YouTube channel.

If you are a photographer and visiting the Lake District my location guide contains details of my favourite places to shoot.

Landscape Photography Workshops

I run landscape photography workshops both here in the Lake District and in Cornwall.

They are a great opportunity to learn new skills and to share your passion with other likeminded people.

I currently have places available on workshops planned for January and February 2020.

Photography Tuition

As an experienced landscape photographer I available for one-to-one photography tuition.

I specialise in helping people who are new to photography to develop the basic skills needed to start photographing the landscape with confidence.

I am also available for hire as a location guide to help you get the most out of you time in the Lake District.

The Hand of Man Project

In 2017 the Lake District was awarded world heritage status by UNESCO who noted that…

…the combined work of nature and human activity has produced a harmonious landscape…

My Hand of Man project aims to celebrate the impact that man has had on the Lake District landscape.

In 2017 I started a YouTube channel. I hoped to inspire others by sharing my passion for landscape photography and for the Lake District.

Through YouTube I have connected with photographers from all over the world. Today some of my closest friends are people that I have met through YouTube.

Sharing my experiences with a global audience has become almost as important to me as my photography. When my busy schedule permits I try to release a video once a week.

The Blog

After starting my YouTube channel it became obvious that not everything I had to say translated well to video.

In 2018 I re-launched my website and started to write regular blog articles.

I find that I enjoy writing almost as much as I enjoy creating videos. Writing allows me more time to craft my message and to share my thoughts on a wide range of topics.

If you enjoy reading about landscape photography be sure to check out my blog.
